Google have announced that they have launched a Google Docs application for Android smartphones.
The application enables you to easily create, edit, upload and share documents. This means you to easily find your documents, edit them in seconds and view your documents wherever you are.
You can easily share documents with contacts using the application and documents can easily be converted into the Google docs format. You can also upload content from your mobile including photos.
The best feature of the new application in our opinion is the "Optical Character Recognition" (OCR). OCR enables you to use your smartphones camera to scan a block of text, such as a document or newspaper and import it into your mobile. You can then edit the document it creates, which could save a lot of time in certain situations. However, the document won't scan fancy fonts and handwriting at the moment but Google is working on additional support all the time.
You can download Google Docs from the Android Market right now and it works on all mobiles running on Android 2.1 or later.  Click here to download Google Docs.
